Type of Contract: Consultancy (2 Months) Fixed-Term Contract under Ivorian law

Objectives

The FHIR Developer Consultant is a technical expert responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standard within the MedApp mobile application. The primary objective is to ensure that medical data—including anthropometric data, vital signs, and patient history—is structured, stored, and exchanged according to strict interoperability standards.

Main responsibilities

The consultant will focus on four primary domains to ensure a seamless integration of health data standards:

FHIR Design

Key Responsibilities

§  Design data models (profiles, extensions) for anthropometrics, vital signs, and patient history.

Expected Deliverables

§  Detailed FHIR Resource Models (Profiles and Extensions).

 

Integration

Key Responsibilities

§  Collaborate with the Software Architect (backend) and Android Developer to ensure bidirectional data exchange.

Expected Deliverables

§  Functional FHIR Integration API (100% transaction conformity).

 

Quality Control

Key Responsibilities

§  Perform interoperability tests and validate FHIR conformity.

Expected Deliverables

§  Test methodology, planning, and conformity reports.

 

Documentation

Key Responsibilities

§  Provide technical documentation for future maintenance and knowledge transfer.

Expected Deliverables

§  Technical documentation and training sessions for the project team.

Job requirements

Education

§  Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Competencies

§  Mandatory: Deep mastery of HL7 FHIR (Resources, Bundles, Operations) and hands-on experience with FHIR servers (e.g., HAPI FHIR, Microsoft FHIR Server, AWS HealthLake).

§  Development: Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

§  Cloud & Security: Knowledge of Cloud technologies for deployment and health data security principles (OAuth 2.0, encryption).

§  Preferred: Knowledge of the Android ecosystem, Health Information Systems (HIS), and working in "Offline First" environments.

Professional experience required

§  Minimum 3 years in software development and FHIR resource design (profiling, etc.).

Languages Skills

§  Working proficiency in English and French (Mandatory)

Computer Skills

·       MS Office suite (mainly MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
