We are looking for a Digital Communications Manager to implement the MSF WaCA/Akwaba digital strategy and strengthen public engagement.

Type of Contract: Fixed-Term Contract under Ivorian law; Renewable

Objectives

Support and implementation of MSF WaCA/Akwaba strategy for audience engagement through digital channels.

Main responsibilities

•          Propose strategies, plans and products for MSF WaCA/Akwaba digital presence based on clear understanding of the targeted audience.

•          Ensure maintenance of quality and well-functioning digital and social media channels for MSF WaCA/Akwaba.

•          Maintain security and streamlined management of MSF digital assets and channels.

•          Provide technical digital support to operational and project teams and coordinate with relevant colleagues in MSF on the Organization’s global footprint.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  1.        Digital Strategy:

•          Conduct and oversee research efforts to create understanding of West and Central African audience dynamics, preferences, and perception of MSF in general and MSF WaCA/Akwaba in particular. Map influential accounts in Africa primarily to identify opportunities for influencer engagement

•          Based on a thorough understanding of the region’s digital ecosystem, work closely with the Head of Communications to develop digital communications strategies that would reach and engage relevant audience for MSF based on operational needs and context realities.

•          Implement and follow implementation of the social media strategy to achieve engagement and conversion results

•          Measure the success of digital strategies to suggest amendments as needed, and report to senior management on progress

2.        Digital Administration:

•          Administrate, manage and maintain MSF WaCA/Akwaba digital channels and social media accounts in a manner that will achieve digital engagement objectives

•          Plan and implement social media campaigns to advance MSF public messages, and measure and report on the impact of those campaigns

•          Ensure quality control of MSF WaCA/Akwaba channels through curation and tailoring of content received from different MSF entities and projects

•          Create social media and posting plans and populate them to support the amplification of MSF messages

•          Collaborate and coordinate posting schedules with MSF digital teams in Africa and West Africa in particular

•          Collect operational updates from MSF WaCA projects and share them with other regional positions or relevant stakeholders

•          Act as a custodian of MSF WaCA/Akwaba channels and digital assets and ensure their security and proper archiving

 

3.        Technical support to operations 

•          Identify best digital forms and platforms for dissemination of operational updates

•          Upon request from operational communication teams, train Communications resources on the ground for content creation for social media, digital campaigning and community building;

•          Upon request from field communication team, provide technical support on country specific digital communications strategies, regarding photo / video / multimedia tools and dissemination

•          Support in development of social media ambassador networks in MSF project locations, in collaboration with Field Communications team,

 

4.        Production and quality control:

•          Collaborate closely with creative and multimedia production teams in MSF to ensure that audiovisual adaptation for digital purposes is aligned with digital trends and audience needs

•          Adapt audiovisual Produce and edit video footage, photo-albums, audio files and infographics for MSF WaCA social media channels.

•          Ensure quality control of MSF WaCA channel through curation and tailoring of MSF and field contents.

5.        Coordination and reporting

•          Act as a focal point for social media monitoring and disinformation on behalf of WaCA in case of a crisis in the region,

•          Act as MSF representative in the digital working group and other relevant platforms and partners

•          Coordinate with MSF digital teams in Africa and other relevant teams

•          Develop digital result reports and contribute to MSF WaCA/Akwaba periodical reports 

 

6.        Other tasks

•          Take charge of any communication project at the request of the Head of Communications.

•          Maintain a list of cameramen, photographers, video editors, and according to the area of implementation of WaCA communications needs

 

 

Job requirements

Education

·       University degree in communications, digital marketing or relevant domains

Competencies

•          Experience in digital communications dynamics and trends

•          Ability to create and manage multimedia assets

•          Ability to work in teams, and independently

•          Innovation and creativity and awareness of ethical creativity 

•          Critical thinking and quality orientation

•          Very good skills in writing for digital channels

•          Strong organisation, time management and attention to details

•          Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

Professional experience required

•          5-7 years of experience in digital communications, digital marketing

•          Experience in NGO sector, preferably in the humanitarian field

•          MSF experience is an asset

Languages Skills

·       Working proficiency in English and French (Required)

·       Any West African language is an asset like Hausa, Fulani

 

Computer Skills

·       MS Office suite (mainly MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
