We Are Looking for: Logistics coordinator – Emergency Pool

Department: Operations

Direct Manager: Emergency Coordinator

Functional Manager: Logistic Referent - Emergency Cell

Working %: 100%

Position Based in: Field

Mobility: High mobility required – availability for short-notice deployments in emergency contexts across WaCA region

Type of Contract: Fixed-Term Contract; Renewable

Position to be filled: Selected candidates will be added to the MSF WaCA Emergency Pool roster and may be contacted for deployment as operational emergency needs arise.

Objectives

The Logistic Coordinator (Emergency) is responsible for overseeing and managing all logistical activities during emergency interventions to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality operational responses aligned with MSF standards to ensure optimal support to medical operations.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure setup, follow-up, and closure of emergency logistical operations

  • Define and implement logistical deployment plans

  • Supervise and manage logistics teams in the field

  • Ensure compliance with MSF policies and quality standards

  • Support the Head of Mission in security management and implementation

  • Define and monitor risk reduction measures and contingency plans

  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and evacuation procedures

  • Guarantee proper living and working conditions for teams

  • Manage infrastructures (bases, offices, accommodations)

  • Ensure proper functioning of IT and communication systems

  • Oversee transport, supply chain, and technical logistics activities

  • Contribute to reporting and knowledge capitalization

  • Manage, train and evaluate logistics staff

  • Ensure capacity building and development of logistics teams

Job requirements

Education

Degree in logistics, engineering, supply chain, or related field

Technical training is an asset (logistics coordination, emergency response)

Competencies

Professional experience required

Minimum 2 years of experience in humanitarian logistics

Experience in emergency or unstable contexts is required

Proven experience in managing logistics teams

Languages Skills

Working proficiency in English and French

Computer Skills

MS Office suite (mainly MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
